Samos Town

Samos Town — Vathi to locals — is the capital and main port of the island, with the ferry link to Kusadasi and the daily connections to Piraeus. It is the only part of Samos with a full year-round market: schools, hospital, public services, offices. Above the harbour sits Ano Vathi, the old settlement of narrow lanes and overhanging upper floors, where most restoration projects are found; along the seafront and towards Kalami the stock is apartments and 1970s-90s houses. Because Ano Vathi is a protected traditional settlement, the permitted works and the facade rules are set by decree, not by the general building code — we check the applicable regime before any listing goes live.
