Ηραίο

Heraion, or Ireo, lies on the south coast west of Pythagorio and takes its name from the Sanctuary of Hera, the UNESCO site it sits beside. It is a flat, low-rise seaside settlement with a long pebble beach, tavernas along the front and easy access to the airport. Property here is holiday houses, apartments close to the water and plots on the fields behind the settlement. Two constraints shape what can be built: the archaeological protection zones around the sanctuary and the coastal setback line.
